Rep. Frank Lucas returns to the House Agriculture Committee just in time for another farm bill, after he chaired the committee through the same process nearly a decade ago.
The Republican from Oklahoma was chairman of the panel during the fraught 2014 farm bill, which got delayed from 2012 due to fights over nutrition programs—a likely obstacle again this year. Now, Lucas said he plans to sit next to Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-Pa.) at hearings as the most senior committee member.
