Map: See how gas prices have changed in your county

09, Jul 2026

Gas prices are up across the country, but nowhere are they up as much as in Roberts County, S.D., where an average gallon of gas would run you $4.85 a gallon Wednesday, 75% more than the price at the start of the Iran war.

How much gas prices have increased depends on where you live, an NBC News analysis of average gas price data from AAA shows. Roberts County’s price was up $2.09 a gallon, while Clinton County, Indiana, population 33,000, prices had only increased 36 cents as of Wednesday.

It also depends on the state. In Georgia, average gas prices are up $0.98 per gallon, among the lowest state-level increases in the nation (Georgia suspended its 33 cents per gallon state gas tax in mid-March). But in Alaska, the average price is up $1.48 per gallon, the largest state-level increase in the U.S.

This map, showing the latest county-level gas prices and the change in prices since the start of the war, will be updated daily.
